Grow your own sprouts...

The Biosnacky 3-tier LARGE sprouter is a germinator that allows you to grow three types of seed at any one time. You can also stagger the growth by planting every 2nd or 3rd day to ensure a continuous supply of sprouts for the family. It's really up to you and that's what I love about the versatility of this sprouter.

While the diameter is the same as the other 3-tiered sprouter (at 20cm or 8.0"), it is taller and allows you to grow larger/taller sprouts on the top level. This makes it more suitable for sprouting wheatgrass or barley grass for example.

You can have fun cultivating a variety of fresh, delicious and crunchy shoots and sprouts in this sprouter made from a food safe, eco-friendly material.

This is a really versatile sprouter and you can adjust it to your needs. When looking at the images of this sprouter, the bottom level (slightly darker looking brown colour) is the water reservoir - this collects all the water once it runs through each level. The second, third and fourth levels are the growing trays. You can see the different types of sprouts growing in one of the images. You can take these levels out and make it a one or two tiered sprouter. It's easy to do. The domed lid at the top has a hole in the bump that you can see. This allows you to pour water into the top level without the need to take the lid off. The water then filters through the different levels down to the collection reservoir at the base.

Also Available: filter papers for the large Sprouter (packs of 25 sheets - $8.95 or buy now with your Sprouter for $8.00). The drainage holes in the trays of this sprouter are fairly large so if you want to grow sprouts that have smaller seeds (eg. alfalfa), then the filter papers are required otherwise they get washed downwards with the water you put in at the top.

All three of the Biosnacky sprouters are fairly similar in shape and function. The major difference is the size and the number of sprouting levels.

These sprouters are handy, dish-washer safe and act as an ideal environment for new sprouts to grow and thrive in.

How to use the Biosnacky Sprouter

All Biosnacky sprouters are fairly similar in shape and function, the major differences being the size and the number of seed trays.

First soak your seeds in a jar for roughly 8 hrs, drain and then lay them out evenly on the seed tray.

Seeds must be watered minimum twice daily (I usually do it when I’m getting ready for breakfast and while I’m cleaning up after dinner). To water your sprouts you need to take off the lid and pour approximately ¼ of a litre of water into the top seed tray. The water then dribbles down slowly through the red siphons to the seed tray below (this is for the 3-tier sprouters of course), until it is fully drained into the surplus water tray at the bottom. The surplus water tray must be emptied every time before you pour the water in so that it doesn’t overflow.

Tip: The excess water is good for watering your indoor plants or the garden.

This tiered design is good because it allows you to water all layers without having to do each one separately.

After about 5-10 days (depending on the sprout) you can scoop out your sprouts and put them in a sealed container in the fridge where you sprouts will last you up to 2 weeks.

It's great to have fresh sprouts for your sandwiches and salads and they're easy for the kids to grab as a quick, healthy snack on the run!

You then wash the seed tray, either in the sink or in the dishwasher and then start again. The advantages of the 3-tier sprouters is that you can either have 3 different sprouts going at any one time; or instead, you have the option of staggering your planting i.e. plant Monday, plant again Thursday, Plant the 3rd Sunday and so on, to allow a steady supply of sprouts for the family.

All sprouters are designed to allow good air circulation which helps to minimise mould. Mould growth can be a problem when growing sprouts because mould loves moist conditions but doesn’t like air flow.

The other major advantage to these models is the price. They’re reasonably priced and they’re tough and should last for a long time if you look after them.

They are also very easy to clean, compared to other sprouters, and easy enough to use for the kids to have a go.

The modest little bioSnacky seeds quickly grow into fresh shoots and sprouts that provide both food and vitality, as well as tasting delicious. This natural nourishment is in its original unchanged form.

BioSnacky shoots and sprouts contain unique concentrations of valuable enzymes, proteins, mineral substances, trace elements and natural vitamins.

They also contain excellent fibre materials that are beneficial to the intestines and regulate the digestive process.

These seedlings are a welcome addition to a variety of dishes and a delight to the eye, as well as the palate.
Use your shoots and sprouts on bread, toss them into crunchy salads. Or fry them gently in olive oil when preparing tasty casseroles, pancakes, omelette or rissoles; add them to soups, dips, muesli, pasta, rice, vegetables, fish and meat dishes.

Happy sprouting! If you have any further questions about any of our sprouters please contact Sprout on 1300793070.
